The Berliner Kaffeerösterei, a founding member of the German Roasters' Guild, is committed to top quality and the responsible use of a special raw material. Part of this philosophy are personal relationships with the coffee farmers in the country where the coffee is grown, in order to guarantee fair wages and working conditions.
The Bundestag coffee is marked with the seal of direct trade. Direct trade means trade at eye level. It is based on the idea of fair trade, only it goes further - for more justice worldwide. Personal relationships with the place of coffee origin are of the utmost importance when buying coffee - because only direct trade makes access to the most valuable beans possible. Coffee farmers receive fair prices for their products and thus benefit directly from the fruits of their labour, without the risk of price speculation or intermediate trade. At the same time, this promotes sustainable economic development throughout the region. Bundestag coffee is traded under these fair conditions and comes from the plantations La Passeio in Brazil, Finca El Limoncillo in Nicaragua and La Cascada in Guatemala.
The coffee from the coffee roasting plant has already been awarded and certified several times.
